SHIRE OF BOYUP BROOK

LOCAL PLANNING STRATEGY 2023-2038

COMMUNITY WORKSHOP/FORUM

THURSDAY, 11 MAY 2023 @ 6.00pm

At the Boyup Brook Club function room

As you may be aware, our Local Planning Strategy 2023-2038 is currently being advertised for public comment and Council has extended the advertising period, which was to close on 10 May 2023, to afford additional community consultation.

The Local Planning Strategy influences our Shire’s future planning and growth.

The purpose of the Local Planning Strategy is to:

  • Set out the long-term planning directions for our Shire;
  • Apply any state or regional planning policy that is relevant to the local planning strategy, and
  • Provide rationale for any zoning or classification of land under the local planning scheme.

To ensure certainty for our local businesses, to protect our services (eg schools, hospital, doctor) and to safeguard our rural lifestyle and character, we encourage you to provide a submission so that your views are captured in the finalization of the strategy.

The Shire will be holding the above workshop/forum to provide you with the opportunity to ask questions regarding the Local Planning Strategy and at which the Consultant’s Council engaged to prepare the Strategy will be in attendance:

Matters discussed will include:

  • Development of aged care accommodation
  • Proposed housing development –
  • Broad acre tree farming in our Shire
  • Shire of Boyup Brook Local Planning Scheme No. 2  - how does the LPS influence this documents review?
