Community Grants
**Community Grants for 2026/2027 are on hold until further notice**
The Shire wishes to advise the community that the 2026 Community Grants Program has been placed on hold until further notice.
This decision has been made due to the ongoing issue regarding the Forest Products Commission (FPC) rates being paid to Treasury and not currently being passed on to the Shire. As this matter remains unresolved, it has created uncertainty around available funding for community programs and initiatives.
We understand how important the Community Grants Program is to our local community groups and volunteers, and this was not a decision made lightly. The Shire remains committed to supporting our community and will review the program as soon as there is greater clarity around the financial situation.
A media release issued on Friday 27th February 2026 by Shire President Helen O'Connell provides further information regarding the impact the FPC rates issue is having on the community. It can be read on the Shire website News Story - Media Release » Boyup Brook
We appreciate your understanding and patience and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Council provide financial assistance to promote and support community-based initiatives which meet the Shire’s strategic direction annually through the Community Grants Program.
This is an annual application based, contestable funding opportunity for a once off contribution for a specific purpose. The Community Grants Program opens in March each year and closes the last Friday of April. The applications are reviewed in May and the recommendations go to Council for consideration during the adoption of the annual budget.
Applications that address the Shire of Boyup Brook’s Strategic Community Plan will have a stronger likelihood of success. Click on the link to access the Strategic Community Plan
