Transport and Licensing

The Shire of Boyup Brook is an agent for the Department of Transport and is able to take payments and process most Driver's License and Vehicle Registration transactions during the hours of 8.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Driver's License Information

You can renew your driver's license (including having your photo taken) at the Shire Office.  Please remember to bring in your renewal notice and your previous driver's license with you.  Licenses are produced in Perth and will be sent to you via Australia Post within 3-4 weeks.

Learner's Permits

You can sit your Learner's Permit Theory test at the Shire Administration Office during the hours of 8.30am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.  You do not need to book an appointment for this test.

Practical Driving Assessments in Boyup Brook are required to be booked in person at the Shire Office. Limited spaces are available each month, please bring your Learner's Permit with you. 

You can sit your Hazard Perception test at the Shire Administration Office during the hours of 8.30am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.  You do not need to book an appointment for this test.

Vehicle Registrations

Payment of vehicle renewals, transfers and de-registering of vehicles can be done at the Shire Office.  If you wish to register an unlicensed vehicle, it will need to be inspected first. The closest inspection point to Boyup Brook is Bridgetown Muffler and Towbar Centre.

The Shire Office is able to receipt payment for Boat registrations and transfer of ownership however for all other information relating to boating please visit: https://www.transport.wa.gov.au/imarine/boat-registration.asp     

Special Series District Number Plates

The Special Series Number Plates are available to order. Contact us to see if the number you would like is available. Applicable forms for your new plates are also available from the Shire Office.

Firearms License

Payments for Firearms Licenses are now taken at the Post Office.
