This position is part of the executive management group working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Council and the community.   Applicants must have experience in administration, governance and financial management processes, preferably in local government, including budgeting, analysis and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Situated in the Blackwood River region, Boyup Brook is 270km south east of Perth and offers the perfect mix of picturesque country location within close proximity to South West towns and activities. The town has excellent schools, hospital, childcare, doctors, shopping, community, and sporting facilities.

As the Manager Corporate and Community Services you will be responsible for the administrative operations of the organization, including the preparation of annual budgets, long term financial plan and annual financial statements. You will also be responsible for managing the council’s ICT infrastructure, human resources, corporate governance, risk management arrangements, ranger services and community services. You will foster a customer service focus, positive team culture, and a positive relationship with the Council.

Ideally, you have sound knowledge of the workings of local government governance and finance or have comparable private sector experience in a senior financial management capacity. Additionally, you will hold relevant tertiary qualifications or have equivalent senior management experience.

A competitive salary package is offered from $152,890 (cash component negotiable from $110,000) including generous annual leave, 9.5% superannuation, council matching superannuation, motor vehicle allowance, housing allowance and professional membership fees subject to a 3 to 5 year contract.

Casual General Hand

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join the Shire’s Work team as a Casual General Hand.

Council is seeking a person with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of working in a ‘team’ situation, who will be responsible for general hand duties, including depot maintenance and cleaning, road construction duties, traffic management, mowing, weeding, spraying and landfill and transfer station attendant duties.

Weekend work is a requirement for this position.

Boyup Brook Early Learning Centre - Diploma Qualified and/or Early Childhood Teacher

The Shire is seeking a Diploma Qualified and/or Early Childhood Teacher to join our enthusiastic  team at Boyup Brook Early Learning Centre. (ACECQA Approved qualifications). We have ongoing casual position/s available and are looking for someone who is able to work flexible hours to provide centre coverage to suit our expanding Service.

Applicants must hold (or be able to obtain) current Working with Children Check, Police Clearance, Suitable First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications as approved by ACECQA. Desirable attributes include previous experience within a similar role and that of a responsible person position, as well as having undergone current child protection training.

In this role, you will be responsible for working as part of a team to provide quality early education and care for children, whilst also providing holistic care for children and their families.
