Assets Officer | Full Time | Flexible Work Arrangements

The Shire of Boyup Brook is seeking a motivated and capable individual to fill the position of Assets Officer on a full time basis, following the conclusion of a period of maternity leave and associated temporary acting arrangement.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Operational Services, this role provides administrative, operational and technical support in the planning, development and maintenance of Shire’s infrastructure asset management systems and plans, and delivery of grant funded and strategic capital works projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintain, develop and assist in implementing Shire asset management systems, spatial systems and plans (relating to physical assets).
  • Undertake routine maintenance inspections, capital condition assessments and other inspections across a range of infrastructure assets, including buildings, facilities, and water and wastewater assets.
  • Assist in development of asset management plans, strategies and policies for Shire infrastructure assets.
  • Contribute to planning and delivery of Shire capital works and infrastructure programs.
  • Provide professional and responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in asset management within local government or a similar environment.
  • Experience inspecting and assessing public assets and infrastructure.
  • Ability to prepare and present information clearly and accurately, including maps, plans and reports.
  • Understanding of engineering standards and practices relevant to public infrastructure.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Well developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with GIS experience highly regarded.
