PLANNING TO BURN? YOU MAY NEED A PERMIT
The Restricted Burning Period starts on 9 October in the Shire of Boyup Brook.
From this date, if you’re planning to burn, you will need to obtain a Permit to Burn before lighting your fire.
HOW DO I GET A PERMIT?
Getting a permit is straightforward:
1. Know where your property is located
Permits are issued by a Fire Control Officer (FCO) for your local Bush Fire Brigade area.
2. Find your local FCO
Contact details for Fire Control Officers are available on the Bushfire Control page, or in the Emergency Information & Bushfire Control 2026/27 booklet.
You can view the booklet HERE or you can pick up a hard copy from the Shire Administration Office.
3. Contact your local FCO
Speak with the FCO for your Brigade area and provide details of your proposed burn. They will let you know whether a permit can be issued and any conditions that apply.

BEFORE YOU BURN
A Permit to Burn comes with conditions that must be followed.
Make sure you understand your notification requirements and check for any current fire restrictions or Total Fire Bans before lighting your fire.
Please don’t leave it until the day you plan to burn.
Plan ahead, contact your FCO and make sure your permit is in place.
