Community Safety Alert: Prohibited Burning Period is in Effect!

The Prohibited Burning Period is currently in place across the Shire of Boyup Brook. (21 Nov 2025 – 28 Feb 2026) While the recent weather might not feel like typical fire danger, the grass is drying out, and we must remain extremely vigilant.

Many residents are rightly using tools like whipper snippers, ride-on mowers, and slashers to prepare their properties for the bushfire season. Please be aware that the heat from engines or blades striking rocks can easily ignite a devastating fire.

Critical Safety Requirement: Water Unit on Hand

It is absolutely essential that you adhere to the requirement to have an adequate water unit immediately on hand when operating any of this equipment. This allows you to respond to and extinguish any ignitions before they can spread.

Failure to comply with these requirements could result in:

  • A major fire incident causing the loss of property, assets, or even a life.
  • A hefty fine.

Let's work together to keep our community safe this season.

Stay informed and check the Shire's website for the most current fire season information.
