NOTICE OF PUBLIC ADVERTISEMENT OF PLANNING PROPOSAL

Planning and Development Act 2005

Shire of Boyup Brook

Local Planning Scheme No.2

SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN

Proposal: Local Planning Policy - PD11 – Renewable Energy Facilities

The Shire of Boyup Brook has endorsed a draft Renewable Energy Facilities policy for advertising purposes.

At the 27 November 2025 Meeting, Council resolved to advertise the new (draft) Renewable Energy Facilities Policy.

The draft Renewable Energy Facilities policy, seeks to ensure that developers engage with the community and take on-board any concerns, before applying for development approval (principally wind turbine and solar array systems).

The draft policy seeks to ensure that the natural, economic and social elements of the Shire are not compromised. For example, the functioning of agricultural practices (economic), and the amenity enjoyed by local residents living in the Shire (social). These policy objectives are reinforced by the Shire’s Local Planning Scheme, which requires development to achieve and maintain satisfactory standards of amenity.

How to view the new (draft) Renewable Energy Facilities Policy

The new (draft) Renewable Energy Facilities Policy is available as a hard copy at the Shire office, 55 Abel Street Boyup Brook, or can be viewed electronically HERE.
