Help Shape the Future of Independent Living in Boyup Brook

The Shire of Boyup Brook is seeking Expressions of Interest from three community members to join the newly established Independent Living Unit Development Committee.

The Committee has been established by Council to provide strategic advice and recommendations on the planning and development of future independent living accommodation within the Shire. Its role is to help guide the project by considering strategic matters such as project vision, design principles, stakeholder engagement, funding opportunities, governance arrangements and long-term operational considerations.

We are seeking community members who have an interest in housing, community development, healthy ageing or strategic planning, and who are committed to helping shape future independent living opportunities for the Boyup Brook community.

Community representatives will:

  • Provide a community perspective on the planning and development of independent living units.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and project development discussions.
  • Assist Council in considering opportunities, challenges and long-term sustainability of the project.
  • Work collaboratively with Councillors, Shire officers and other stakeholders.

It is anticipated the Committee will meet quarterly with additional meetins convened if required.

Eligibility

Applicants should:

  • Be a resident of the Shire of Boyup Brook, with a strong connection to the community.
  • Have an interest in supporting future housing options for older residents.
  • Be able to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality where required.
