Environmental Health Officer – Part Time – Flexible Hours – Immediate Start

The Shire of Boyup Brook is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Environmental Health Officer to join our team.

This position has become available due to staff movement. The role is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of high standards of public and environmental health and related services, programs and projects within the community through the administration of Health and Environment legislation, Council local laws and policies.

The position offers the following benefits;

To be considered for this position, you will require;

  • Bachelor of Science, Diploma or Post Graduate Certificate (Environmental Health, Public Health or other relevant) qualification, acceptable for the Public Health Act 2016 authorisation for WA
  • Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience in an environmental health role, preferably within local government
  • Strong organisational skills with the capacity to work unsupervised, manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to accurately process and prepare documentation using a range of Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated public relations and interpersonal skills in a customer based operational environment with an ability to be flexible in the delivery of services to meet our community’s evolving expectations
  • Working knowledge of Public Health Act, Building Code of Australia, the Environmental Protection Act, and other legislation relevant to Environmental Health
  • Hold a current “C” class Motor Drivers Licence
