Resignation of Cr Lizz Rear

Cr Lizz Rear has resigned as Councillor of the Dinninup Ward, after serving the Community for almost 5 years. Cr Rear was first elected to Council in September 2015 and has been the elected representative on a number of committees and service groups involved in building a stronger and more cohesive community. Cr Rear was a proactive councillor who worked closely with the executive to strengthen the shire’s governance and impacted positively on many aspects of council business.

Cr Rear was a part of many significant initiatives and achievements including Boyup Brook Citizens Lodge Renewal Program, continued funding to community organisations to support diverse range of community interests, continued transport Infrastructure renewals and improvements, Aged Accommodation Upgrade Project, Toddler’s Pool refurbishment, Shire’s Disability & Access Inclusion Plan, Implementation of Boyup Brook Early Learning Centre, and Sport & Recreation Precinct Master Plan, plus many others.

The Council and Staff would like to acknowledge Cr Rear’s significant contribution to council and the community and wish her every success for the future.

 Upcoming Council Elections

Council will hold an election in October to fill the vacancy left by the departure of Graham Aird (Scotts Brook Ward)  and Lizz Rear (Dinninup Ward).  It would be good if we could have several candidates willing to compete to join Council.  Our Council is a supportive and collaborative group.  If you think you could contribute or make a difference, please nominate.  Advertising will commence on Saturday 8th August 2020.
