Transport and Licensing

The Shire of Boyup Brook is an agent for the Department of Transport and is online with the main computer in Perth.  The Shire Office is able to take payments and process most Drivers License and Vehicle Registration transactions.

Drivers LicenCe Information

You can renew your drivers license (including having your photo taken) at the Shire Office.  Please remember to bring in your renewal notice and your previous drivers license.  Licenses are produced in Perth and will be sent to you in the post within 2 weeks.

Learners Permits – you do not need to book an appointment to sit the computerised theory tests at the Shire Office.  Practical Drivers Assessments can be booked online or by coming in to the Shire Office.  Please bring your Learners Permit with you .

Vehicle Registrations

Payment of vehicle renewals, transfers and de-registering of vehicles can be done at the Shire Office.  If you wish to register an unlicensed vehicle, it will need to be inspected first. The closest inspection point to Boyup Brook is Bridgetown Muffler and Towbar Centre.

The Shire Office is able to receipt payment for Boat registrations and transfer of ownership however for all other information relating to boating please visit: https://www.transport.wa.gov.au/imarine/boat-registration.asp     

Special Series District Number Plates

The Special Series Number Plates are available to order. Contact us to see if the number you would like is available. Applicable forms for your new plates are also available from the Shire Office.  

The Council operates licensing during opening hours, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm. For further information contact the Customer Service Officer on (08)9765 1200 or The Department of Transport on  13 11 56.

FIREARMS LICENcE

Payments for Firearms Licenses are now taken at the Post Office.
