Western Power Notice

Posted on: Tuesday, 14 August 2018 at 12:00:00 AM

Here at Western Power, providing a safe and reliable supply of energy is important to us. So we continually inspect and maintain our equipment to improve the energy supply and reduce the impact of unplanned outages.

One of our priorities is the replacement of 171 poles and 79 kilometres of overhead power lines throughout the Boyup Brook and West Arthur shires between September 2018 and November 2018. The works will begin in the Boyup Brook townsite in September with overhead line replacements. A large piece of this work is in replacing a significant number of poles and overhead power lines between Moodiarrup and Kulikup. It’s important for you to know that we need to schedule power outages to keep our crews safe. You’ll receive notification of any required outage in advance. Please check your notification carefully as you may experience more than one outage.

During this time you may notice an increase in heavy vehicles in the area and a crew member will contact you if we need to access your property.

We understand that this can be inconvenient at times. So we are committed to completing this project as quickly as possible. In addition, we will also have a traffic management team in place where needed, to ensure safe passage without requiring road closures. This along with our highly efficient Western Power crews, should reduce project completion times and get your power back on sooner.

While we endeavour to keep to these times, safety is our main priority. So if we come across challenges along the way, there may be a delay in getting the power back on.

Just remember that our customers are important to us, and you can rest assured that we’ll be doing everything we can to get your power on.
