Public Notice: Flaxmill Shed Lease

Pursuant to Section 3.58(3) of the Local Government Act 1995, notice is hereby given of the intention to lease a shed on a portion of Boyup Brook  Lot 336, Certificate of Title Volume 1337 Folio 8381, (known as the Boyup Brook Flax Mill) to Mr Chris Pratico of Greenbushes.  Lot 336 is approximately 16.0407HA, the area to be leased is approximately 30m by 40m (a land area of 1,200m2) and contains a metal framed metal clad (clad on roof and one side only) shed structure of the same approximate dimensions. 

 

The proposed lease is for a five year period with an annual rental of $6,000.  The lease would include the need for the Shire to make the shed area secure by fencing three sides and providing access via gates (estimated cost $11,000)

 

The periodic rental for shed space at the Flax Mill was set in the Shire's 2017/18 annual budget.  Using the List of Fees and Charges for 2017/18 the maximum annual rental value of the 1,200m2 of shed space would be $4,423 ($0.30 per cubic metre per month plus an annual administration charge of $103.00).  The shed has not been well used to date.
